1st Choice Credit Union is a HUD approved intermediary Home Counseling Agency committed to increasing homeownership, creating affordable housing opportunities for low-income individuals/families; particularly among minorities.
We are also a preferred counseling agencies with relationships with several community partners who offer special down-payment assistance for; anyone in the general public, people with disabilities, as well as individuals working in select industries:
Understanding the home buying process can be a challenging experience for a first time homebuyer. Purchasing a home is one of the most valuable investments a family will ever make. However; being more informed prior to making that purchase, typically eases the home buying experience and ultimately strengthens the borrower's ability to obtain and maintain their American Dream of homeownership.
Credit Counseling – help people gain control of their financial affairs and rebuild their credit. This service is for both potential homebuyers and for homeowners.
Foreclosure/Post-purchase Education and Counseling – gives homeowners instruction to make homeownership sustainable in a classroom setting, while counseling involves one-on-ones crisis intervention to help homeowners who are in trouble of maintaining their mortgage payments.
Homebuyer Education Workshops - provides general information about the home buying process to a group of potential homebuyers, in a classroom setting. This includes but is not limited to information on down-payment assistance programs, closing costs, home inspections, credit readiness, and various financing options.
Pre-purchasing one-on-one – assist with resolutions to barriers of homeownership through one-on-one counseling. This includes a complete evaluation of their financial status and readiness for homeownership.

$25 Registration Fee
